Natural fabrics like cotton, linen, wool, and bamboo are skin-friendly and eco-conscious but often harder to clean than synthetics. Fortunately, there are effective and gentle home remedies to remove stains without damaging the fabric.

1. Identify the type of stain

Grease, blood, coffee, wine, or grass stains all need different treatments. The sooner you act, the better the results.

2. Grease stains – dishwashing liquid

Apply a drop of clear dish soap (like Fairy) directly to the stain, let it sit for 10–15 minutes, then hand wash in warm water. Avoid hot water — it may set the grease.

3. Blood – cold water and salt

Always treat blood with cold water. Dissolve 1 tbsp salt in a glass of water, soak the stain for 30 minutes, then wash as usual.

4. Wine and berries – baking soda and lemon

Sprinkle baking soda on the stain, squeeze some lemon juice over it, let it fizz, rub gently, and rinse in lukewarm water.

5. Coffee and tea – vinegar

Mix vinegar and water (1:2), apply to the stain for 10 minutes, then wash with your regular detergent.

6. General tips

  • Don’t scrub aggressively — this can damage the fabric.

  • Always test the remedy on a hidden part of the fabric.

  • Avoid bleach — it can weaken or discolor natural fibers.

Natural fabrics can last long and look fresh if cleaned gently and regularly!
